Predictions

*Do predictions come true because they were destined to come true, or because people make them happen because it was predicted (like a self-fulfilling prophesy)?*
I believe that predictions come true because people make them happen. when someone is given a prophecy and they truly do believe in it then chances are subconsciously they will make that prediction come true. whether its through an increase in confidence or a decrease, prophecies can have a have a huge effect on someone depending oh how much they believe in it. one example is in the play Oedipus Rex where a seer says to a king that his son will grow up to kill him. in fear of this the king sends his son to be killed and in turn starts to make the prophecy come true since the child survives and kills him later in life. now if that prophecy was never made none of the events that led up to the son killing the father would've happened.
