Acting

Describe the process you took to present your scene.  What went well? Not so well? What would you do differently next time you had to do a scene?

in order to prepare ourselves me and my group practiced and going into the scene i was pretty confident.i think my group did good. while we did forget some of our lines i feel that we did good on the parts that we did say and overall we did our best. Next time i think i should practice just a little more and try to know my lines off the top of my head.

What will Macbeth do about banquo?

I believe that Macbeth will try to get rid of banquo because hes already gone to far.Macbeth has so much to lose that he cant let banquo jeopardize it. however, i don't think Macbeth will stop there. i believe that macbeth will only become more and more ruthless and wont let anyone get in his way.

Ambition

I believe that lady Macbeth was the driving force. Throughout the play we see lady Macbeth belittling her husband in order to push him into killing the king .Lady Macbeth had every finger wrapped around Macbeth, making him at her beckoning call. She knew how to keep a short leash on her husband. However, her power over her husband and the murder would corrupt her and bring her down.not only are they hiding secrets from Duncan and Banquo, but their also hiding something from each other. they each have their own reasons for going after the crown.

witches

Now that you have seen several versions of the witches, which version do you think is the best?
I liked the nurse versions more. i liked them more because they were more scary and new. I find the old hideous hag witch too cliche and boring. In all the movies you always see that old witch who is all wrinkly. Also i found the nurses to be more scarier, whether this is due to the fact that they took the heart out of a corpse or just the idea of evil nurse i don't know. i just found the whole nurse thing as a whole better than all the rest.

"be a man"

*Discuss the question, what does it mean to be a “man”? Do you agree with Lady Macbeth’s view? Or do you think Macbeth’s consideration is more “manly”?*
I think alot of things go into being a man and it honestly depends on your own personal beliefs. but i think the most important qualities for any man is to keep his word and to responsibility for his actions. with that being said i disagree with lady Macbeth. it seems to me that lady Macbeth is the type to shoot first then ask questions later kind of person. i don't think that kind of think would be of any type of help as it would make things more difficult in the long run. I think Macbeth consideration of things is the smarter move and by him being calculating and thinking stuff over it will make things easier for him in the long run. Macbeths way of thinking is more manly because hes being more cautious on the whole situation rather than rushing things.

Power Corrupts

“Power Corrupts, Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely.” This saying means that the more power one has the more corrupt they become. One that has power generally abuses it. In the play Macbeth by Shakespeare we see multiple characters grow more corrupt as their power increases. Also once someone has a taste of power they usually want more. As to why power corrupts I believe it is because the more power someone has, the easier it is to fall into temptation and forget who we are
In the play we see that once Macbeth gets a taste of power by becoming Thane of Cawdor he realizes all the power he could have and gets a thirst for more. For example, Macbeth says, “My murderous thought is still only imaginary but it shakes my entire manhood so deeply that my power to act is smothered by expectation, and nothing seems real to be except what I imagine.”(Act 1 scene 3 lines 149-151). This leads him to killing the king in order to obtain even more power. By murdering the king Macbeth starts to go down a path of corruption from a loyal man to a traitor in order achieve his goals, and as time goes on he becomes even more corrupt which shows through his actions.
Once Macbeth becomes king his corruption didn't stop. Macbeth abused his new found power by becoming a ruthless king which is shown in the play. “Send out more horses, skirr the country round. Hang those that talk of fear” (act 5 scene 2 lines 35-37). Once King Macbeth believed his people’s lives were his to with as he pleased and threw them away carelessly. This abuse of his power shows us that killing the king was not going to be the last of Macbeth’s evil deeds and that Macbeth was starting become more passive about taking innocent lives.
Another example of how power goes hand in hand with corruption is the three witches. The Three witches are probably the most powerful and corrupt characters in the entire play. They are the ones who set Macbeth and Lady Macbeth down their dark paths .They are also the ones who hold the most power over the two. If the witches had never told Macbeth their prophecy then all of the deaths in the play would not have occurred.
In conclusion we see that power and corruption are two things that are commonly intertwined. We see this in Macbeth who went from a man who was loyal to his king and his friends who couldn't even bear the thought of killing his king. To a man who could take away innocent lives as though it was second nature.  We also see that the witches who were the ones controlling everything and were the ones who had absolute power were the most corrupt. Macbeth is a perfect tale that perfectly shows how power can corrupt people. However, the corruption of power isn't only limited to Macbeth, humans all over the world who have power are corrupt. Dictators, gang bosses, politicians. Because we humans have trouble resisting all the temptations of power we usually find ourselves falling into temptation.  This is why Macbeth is a story that be placed in many different settings.

Are Macbeth’s paranoia due to his own weakness or a consequence of what he did?
I think Macbeth's paranoia is due to his consequence. Macbeth has alot of guilt due to the fact that hes killed so many people. this leads him to have this paranoia. .we see this when he has his hallucination of banquo. also, all his hallucinations and paranoia started once he began killing. because macbeth has let his consequence get to him he began to slowly lose it.
